Dryad
simon oliver - dryad sculpture In folklore a dryad is a wood nymph: an elemental lifeform which guards and protects the trees and plants of woodland. Carved from a log of cherry wood, the natural curl of the wood has been maintained and wraps around the female nude figure, cloaking her within its form, and her shape in turn reflects the curves of the grain. Finished with a high polish.
